We're Sophie & Careah

We are the co-founders of Evergreen Film House. We met right before our freshman year of college at Samford University and were roommates in a little dorm nestled in the woods called Evergreen Hall. We like to say this is where the idea was born hence the company name. We have been by eachothers side for over 6 years and we are more than ready to continue to do what we love for many more years to come.

We find ourselves waking up daily blown away that we get to do this as our job all because one day we both picked up a camera and haven't put it down since. Truly, we believe we are doing exactly what we should be doing with our lives right now. We feel immense fulfillment in creating wedding films, and we would be honored to invite you into our amazing journey telling the greatest love stories on earth.

Hey There, I'm Sophie :)

I'm from Birmingham, Alabama and I have always had a love for creating. Since I was a child, I was the one drawing on walls and getting art kits for birthdays or Christmas. That led me to taking art classes all through high school which inevitably led to me majoring in graphic design at Samford. During my college years, I took an elective of motion graphics/videography just for kicks and gigs (really for the extra college credit lol) and ending up falling in love with video. I evetually took extra motion graphics/video classes and earned myself an independent study in video along with a BFA in graphic design!

As your wedding videographer, you can count on me to get everyone energized and moving for those big group shots, keep everyone on schedule, and also keep those rowdy groomsmen in check. I will be capturing everything worth remembering, but don't be surprised if you see me in the middle of the dance floor busting it down with your grandma.

Looking back on my life - all the hours I spent locked away in my childhood bedroom dreaming and creating what I now would call "cringy" videos for my YouTube channel... I can't thank God enough that it led me to this moment. It's hard to comprehend.

I met my husband, Tristn, in high school and he ultimately pushed me to begin filming weddings. Together we have built a beautiful story along with our daughter, Sutton. She has brought a whole new meaning to life, and I’m so thankful that I get to document her life every day through film so that one day she can look back on it and maybe even add it to her future wedding film (I love me some old home videos).

This job has been one of God’s greatest blessings to me, and in my 5 years of documenting weddings, I’ve discovered that story matters. Your wedding day is just one component of your beautiful love story. There's so much more. How did it begin? Why did you fall in love with each other? What drew you in and fascinated you so much that you decided to spend your whole life with each other? My passion lies in artfully telling a story that answers all of these questions–a story so worthy of being preserved uniquely.
